Our patented innovation is a deployment system that provides the user with the ability to create traction or other on demand change (heel height, wheels, etc.) based on weather conditions, surface conditions, user requirements and safety.
A person wearing an ODTS product can instantly engage the system with the press of a button or lever on the shoe. When engaged, multiple studs, cleats, lugs, soft rubber tips, heel extension, wheels, etc. extend from the bottom of the shoe and come in contact with the ground. When not required, these extensions can be retracted, returning the shoe to its normal tread. The ODTS is a battery-operated electronic or manually-operated mechanical system which provides traction or enjoyment that has year round applications. In brief, the key advantages of it are:
Select Sole’s innovation includes a pod system designed right into the mid-sole of the shoe. The pods, when activated, deploy the traction device from the sole of the shoe, just when you need it. The entire process is driven by a user friendly interface placed in the upper or elsewhere on the shoe that activates an electronic or mechanical drive engine to create the deployment. To retract the traction pods, you push the switch to return the traction device to its original position. Pod components are constructed with the highest possible quality and performance materials for each footwear environment using industry insights from years of footwear development and mid-sole creations.
