The On Demand Traction System can be used by athletes and recreational hikers to enhance performance, by workers to safely respond to environmental changes, by dress and casual shoe wearers to navigate icy and wet sidewalks. You instantly engage the system with the press of a lever on the back of the shoe.

The system can be used to deploy multiple studs, cleats, rubber tips or wheels from the sole of the shoe to adjust to individual performance requirements. After use, the extensions can be retracted, returning the shoe to normal tread.
